Greeting in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I am overjoyed to welcome you to the newly relaunched Mosaic website!
Mosaic is a ministry to the young adults (18 – 29) of Northern Virginia. It is a ministry that meets a wide range of needs as we minister to those who are making choices that will affect the direction of the lives. Mosaic is designed to aid people in their pursuit of God while seeking His will for direction.
Here's a couple good ways to better understand Mosaic:
Mosaic is a Christian ministry. This may seem simple, but the definition can sometimes become clouded because of past experience. We hold onto the essential historic beliefs, which all Christians share. We receive the Bible as God’s rich resource for us, and we seek to understand it and apply it to our daily lives. We want to embrace the traditions of the early church by embracing creeds and writings of founding fathers. We also want to experience fresh revelation of Jesus and who he is because we believe the good news of Jesus Christ is the best news in the world.
Mosaic is a ministry of Manassas Assembly of God (MAG).
Mosaic is not independent of the church but is under the umbrella of MAG and adheres to its vision and doctrine. For more information on the church and doctrinal statement, check out the web site magchurch.org.
Mosaic is a “ Missional” ministry.
This means that we see the Christian mission as being at the heart of all we are, say, and do. What is that mission? Jesus described it in many varied ways, but summarized it quite simply: we are called to love God with all our being, and we are called to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are an outward-focused ministry rather than an inward-focused ministry. We consider it vitally important to share the hope that Jesus Christ offers to those who are in need of healing, forgiveness, and restoration. We also believe that we want the world to be a better place because we were here whether they accept our message or not. We minister through delivering meals to people with Aids, doing yard work for those unable to do their own, and “giving a cup of cold water” to those who are thirsty.
Mosaic is an experiential ministry.
We have a special concern for unchurched people—both those who have no religious background and those who have dropped out of church. We want to make the good news of Jesus Christ relevant to them through different avenues of expression. Jesus does not just call us to sit in a chair and be entertained for an hour; He is calling us into a dynamic relationship which can be experienced and expressed through different mediums that are exercised each week. We do not believe that we have “got it right” or have arrived yet. Instead, we believe we are learning, growing, and progressing together on an adventure of spiritual growth as imperfect people loved by God.
Mosaic is a welcoming ministry.
We hope you will feel welcome at Mosaic and that you will choose to do more than attend our service—we hope you will really become a part of the Mosaic Community.
